FULL MOON PADDLES

Full moons have always played a role in shaping our culture from the ocean tides to werewolves to seasonal harvesting. The moon has always held a sense of mysticism for humankind.   

In partnership with Gastonia Park and Recreation, join us for our Full Moon Paddles where we will paddle under the full moon’s glow and have fun with fantastical topics like spooky stories, folklore, full moon rituals, and animals of the night!  

You can rent a kayak and accompanying gear or bring your own! If you bring your own, we allow kayaks or canoes, but no stand-up paddleboards.

Dates and Times:

June 14 at 8:30 PM - Spooky Stories (SOLD OUT)

July 13 at 8:30 PM - Folklore (SOLD OUT)

August 11 at 8 PM - Full Moon Rituals

September 9 at 7:30 PM - Animals of the Night

Where to Meet: 

Rankin Lake Park (1750 Rankin Lake Rd, Gastonia, NC)

Cost:   

• $25 per guest
• 10% discount for Catawba Riverkeeper members

Cost Includes: 

• Single sit-on-top kayak
• PFD (personal floatation device)
• Paddle (if renting)
• Basic water safety
• Paddling instruction
• Two kayak guides

Restrictions: 

• Must be 18 years of age to purchase tickets
• Must be 12 years of age to participate with an adult
• Weight limit on the rental kayak is 250 lbs

Weather Policy:

If we have to cancel this program due to weather, we will provide a refund to all ticketed guests. We will do our best to notify guests of cancellations at least 2 hours in advance. 

Refund Policy: 

You may cancel your ticket up to 24 hours before your scheduled date. If we must cancel due to weather or water level, your ticket will be fully refunded within 48 hours after your scheduled date.
