Rent a kayak! Paddle down the slowly flowing South Fork River near Charlotte at your leisure with this scenic experience. This beautiful section of river is perfect for beginners and intermediates alike.

Downstream Paddle Kayak Rentals (Shuttle Included)   

• McAdenville to Cramerton: Enjoy a leisurely 1.5-mile downstream paddle on the slowly flowing South Fork.    

Walk up during rental hours to rent a single or tandem kayak. 

Reservations are available for groups of 6 boats or more.      

Out-and-Back Kayak Rentals (No shuttle necessary)   

Start at Centennial Launch (Cramerton) and paddle:   

• Upstream towards McAdenville and back   
• Around Goat Island Park and back   
• Downstream to Riverside Park and back   

Walk up during rental hours to rent a single or tandem kayak. 

Reservations are available for groups of 6 boats or more.      

Dates and Times:  

Walk-Up Rentals: Saturdays and Sundays 10 AM - 4 PM   

Group Reservations: Saturdays and Sundays at 2 PM       

Group Reservation Details: Group reservations require a minimum of 6 boats. 12 single kayaks and 3 tandem kayaks are available for group reservations. Group reservation time options (Saturdays and Sundays):  

• 2-3:30 PM – McAdenville South Fork River Greenway Access to Centennial Launch in Cramerton 
• 2-4 PM – McAdenville to Riverside Park (past Goat Island) and back to Centennial Center River Access   

All group reservations must be made 15 days in advance.             

Where to Meet:  For the downstream paddle, meet at the McAdenville South Fork River Greenway access (501 Lakeview Drive, McAdenville, NC). Take the Catawba Riverkeeper shuttle back to your car after your trip ends at Centennial Launch in Cramerton.   For the out-and-back paddles, meet at the Centennial Launch (141 8th Ave, Cramerton, NC) in downtown Cramerton.     

Cost: 

• Downstream Paddles - $30/boat (Belmont, Cramerton, and McAdenville residents receive a $5 discount)   
• Out-and-Back Paddles - $30/boat (Belmont, Cramerton, and McAdenville residents receive a $5 discount)   
• Group Reservations Self-Guided - $40/boat   
• Group Reservations with a Guide - $40/boat + $25 guide fee
